done differently

Built to help you put the Bible into action in real life.

'Cuz everything makes sense on the page until you're faced with (other) imperfect people in a very imperfect world.

JOURNEY GROUPS

Help you walk out a plan - for when life, your boss, traffic, or a really hard season of life punches you in the mouth.

So what are Journey Groups?

  • Not just a book study or a Bible study.

  • Not a social group that accidentally turns into gossip hour.

  • And not a "Hey, how are you?" with pat answers every time.

Nope. Journey Groups are

  • Real

  • Raw

  • Dig in and do LIFE together kind of Christian friendships.

That's cool, but how does this connect to my Jesus journey?

Because you can't truly learn to know the God of the Bible without learning to love and do life with the people He created.

And you can't do that without being in a true community with other believers - aka having close Christian friends.

Traffic

It’s really easy to open up to 1 Corinthians 13 and read about love… but it’s entirely different to DO love when someone cuts you off in traffic.

Journey groups help you take the head knowledge of the Bible and put it into practice in real, everyday life.

Learning the Bible in the context of relationships is key.

What makes Journey Groups different from other small groups?

Deep-Dive Bible Study

Journey Group members are encouraged to study the scriptures daily, actively listening and delving into the passages from the YJJ Daily Bible Podcast.

Collaborative Learning

Journey Group members attend a weekly meet-up together (in person or online). This group serves as a safe space for them to share what they are learning from God’s Word, struggling with, or even confused about.

Practical Application

If we're not practicing what we learn, then we're not truly disciples of Jesus (James 1:22). Encouraging one another to "try out" what we learn each week and then supporting each other throughout the week is where true discipleship begins to take shape- (Doing Learners WITH other Doing Learners).

Growth-Oriented

Journey groups are different because we don't see them as people meeting together. Instead, we see them as people going together. It's not a weekly talk about religion. It's a meet-up to talk about what you're learning, how you're doing in following Jesus, and where you see God leading you in the days or weeks ahead.

A Journey Group is simply a community of friends who embark on a journey to learn God's word and follow Jesus together, learning together, spurring each other on, and holding each other accountable along the way.
